Here’s what’s happening!
Scott Hoolahan
2023-25 President
Scott never hesitates to remind those around him that his mother Betty has been, and is, his inspiration for helping those less fortunate while also working to improve the quality of life in his community. He got an early start in volunteer circles when, as a child, he would sit beside his mom at a table piled high with donation envelopes helping her to stuff and stamp them.
That volunteer spirit eventually led Scott to Rotary, where he uses his many contacts in the loan business to raise money for local charities and lead the club in community outreach projects. He has taken on the challenge of serving as president for two years and has presided over two successful fund-raisers (the inaugural Charity Chili Cook-Off and the traditional Peach Cobbler Booth at the Cowboy Festival) as well as promoting sponsorships of other charitable fund-raisers and numerous grant projects.

Ken Petersen
President-Elect
Southern California native Ken Petersen's ambition to follow in his engineer father’s footsteps resulted in a civil engineering degree from Cal State Long Beach. His first job out of college was with the LA County Flood Control District. Following a 6-year stint in the Army Reserves, he became an engineering consultant in Orange County and later became assistant general manager of the Lake Forest Water District. He joined Rotary in 1994 while working there.
A call from the Newhall County Water District brought Ken and wife Kathie to the Santa Clarita Valley in 2001. The first people he met were SCV Rotarians Ed Bolden and John Fuller who immediately brought him to a local Rotary meeting. Along with managerial and administrative duties for the local water districts, Ken has served either as an officer or a club service chair since that first meeting, first becoming president in 2006-07.
